Just Checking In

Good Afternoon, My Good People...Just checking in to see how everyone is doing on their road to better health.  I hope you all are drinking plenty of water, getting more exercise, and eating healthier than you did last month.  Big question is, how is that food diary working for you???  If it's not working, let me know the problems and we can work them out together.  REMEMBER, log everything you eat, the amount, and time.  The only thing you do not log is non-caloric drinks...Every couple of days, take a look back at your log.  Can you identify something that you could really have done without or maybe eaten LESS of???  Did you really need to eat ALL 10 hot wings?  You should have eaten some carrot sticks instead of those bread sticks! Did you have to have 4 glasses of wine, when 2 would have been plenty?

As for me, I slacked for the last 2 days...Yes, I did.  Remember my foot sprain from last week, well it is still a little painful and hampering me from any major lower body movements.  My commitment for the slacking...I am working on the 5th floor today, so every hour on the hour, I walk down the 5 flights and back up the 5 flights of stairs.  I have 6 more times to do this today.  If you don't hear from me, just call 911 and tell them to check the stairwells.  I am sure I will be laying there trying to catch my breath!!!  SMOOCHES...

  1. Good tips in the slide show. Eating (especially healthy eating) has become really boring for me lately. I feel like I’m always eating the same things. I particularly struggle with eating small meals/snacks between meals, which I know is important. Maybe my palate just isn’t that sophisticated… Anyway, does anyone have any suggestions of good choices for snacks/small meals?

  2. Hey Naj,

Snacks that work for me: popcorn (popped the old fashion way...ask your mom); once popped I sprinkle with garlic powder or parm cheese or the kettle corn sprinkle(sold in the popcorn sect @ mkt) which is my favorite. I roast all my veggies (carrots/broc/brussel spr/etc), with evoo, kosher salt, red pepper flakes and sometimes fresh garlic. Try making some low cal dip. Rice crackers (low cal). Try eating foods high in fiber will make you feel full longer. Hope this helps!!!!

  3. I understand the "boring" thing...I have to crunch!!! I am a popcorn person. Yes, I use my hot air-popper or the heavy pot...I DO NOT LIKE that microwave stuff...
