Tired? Really?

Good evening…  Well, July is gone and we are already into the month of August.  How did you make out with the CARDIO CHALLENGE?  I did alright.  I shorted myself one week by 15 minutes, but I can’t complain.  So, this month is yours to work on your own.  No challenge from me.   Come up with your own challenge—increase exercise sessions, increase the weights you are using, cut back on your fried foods, eat more veggies.  Whatever it is, make the commitment and stick to it!!!  It’s only ONE MONTH.
YOU can do it!!!
So, what happens when you are just too tired and do not feel like exercising?   You need to really address whether or not you are truly too tired or just not looking forward to exercising, bored, have an injury, or are short on time.
You have to make exercising work for you.
·         You have to prepare yourself.  Make your lunch the night before.  Pack your workout clothes the night before if you are going to hit the gym after work.  Schedule exercise into your day, like you would any other activity—and stick with it, get  your workout in.   A little extra sleep may help give you some energy.
·         Go Slow.  No one says that you have to go ALL OUT every time you workout.  Also, if you haven’t exercised in over a “month of Sundays”, DO NOT try to do a workout like an Olympic athlete.  Just take some pride in the fact that you are up and exercising.  If you feel you have injured yourself, GO GET CHECKED by your doctor.
Do not keep pushing when you know, something is not feeling right
·         Spice things up.  Sometimes you just have to make a change.  Vary your routine, your walking path, your running route, your type of exercise and who you are exercising with.
·         Squeeze in exercise.  Take those steps, not the elevator.  Go to bed earlier, so you can get up earlier and get your workout in before work.   If you are off of work for the day, get a workout in BEFORE you start your activities for the day.  Because you know, like I do, that if you wait until afterwards, more than likely, exercise is not going to happen.
There are many days that I was just “dog tired” and didn’t feel like exercising, but I PUSHED myself to go and I felt so good afterward.  There is something to be said about exercise energizing you.    Get that cardio exercise in and  log what you are eating.  Healthier is OUR goal Family...
Keeping up with my CARDIO CHALLENGE and tracking my food for the month of July allowed me to drop 10 pounds!!!  Yea, Baby…
     Let’s Go  SMOOCHES…
