Good evening, Family... I sure hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving. We are now in the midst of the "Holiday Season". I don't know about you, but for me that will include celebrating in some way with family and friends, working on the holiday, and ALWAYS means throwing down on some good food.
So, WE (yes we) need to be diligent with our healthy plans during this holiday season. WE need to be careful, careful... This includes sticking with our exercise regimens because it will be so easy to push them to the side for some shopping. We also need to plan out our menus so that we can eat healthy meals and snack on healthy goodies instead of the gooey, sticky, sugary or high fat stuff that will not only smell great, but look even better. We also need to make sure we are getting plenty of rest because you know like I do, that this season is full of stress for many reasons--menu planning, money woes, memories--just to name a few.
Now, for me, I am still rehabilitating this foot of mine. I still am not allowed to bear any weight on my toes and physical therapy doesn't start for a few more days. I have tried to stick to some weight training exercises but TRUTH, I was lazy... After getting my surgical bandages off, I got on the scale and believe it or not, I only gained ONE pound, so I am feeling not so bad right now, but I have to do something before all the middle turns to jelly (laughing to myself right now)...
Remember, keep drinking plenty of water--six to eight 8-oz. glasses per day. Eat small low fat, high fiber, high protein meals--you can do this 4-5 times per day. Keep up with your exercise program--it will make you feel better in the end. Get your appropriate amount of rest and relaxation--DO NOT LET THE HOLIDAYS STRESS YOU OUT. If you have any suggestions for sticking to a healthy holiday season, let me know, I will surely post them. SMOOCHES...
