Good Morning, Everyone!!! How was your weekend? I had a pretty good one. It included a Girl's Night Out and yes we did all but watch what we were eating, but as they say, "it's all good"...It was great to hear that folks have been up and moving...My Niece has been getting in her walk-run regularly. One of my Girlfriends even started exercising with her daughter, but had to sit and rest during the session because it was more challenging than she expected. Another Niece said, "it's hard, but I have been trying to get my water intake up"...and that my folks is what all this is about...Trying and doing the best you can...
Let's talk about this food tracking. Start today!!! Write down or track on your smartphone exactly what you are about to eat. If you cannot do it prior to consumption, then track it immediately following. Remember, this is not something that you do at the END of THE DAY...What you want to do at the end of the day is look at what you actually ate and drank that should have been avoided or altered in some way--did I really need to have those cookies, I really didn't need that second bacon cheeseburger, I should have had some flavored water instead of that Coke, etc... Remember, we are not trying to starve ourselves, we are just trying to EAT HEALTHIER...
Injury Report...My foot is still a little sore, but I am going to press on today and try some Zumba. If it gets to be too much I will alter my movements, maybe by only doing upper body motions or by just sitting myself down. We will see...SMOOCHES...
Food for Thought... You really need to have a snack after exercise to help recover lost energy and prepare your body for the next activity in your day. Southbeach Diet Experts say the best snack should contain a combination of protein and good carbohydrates (yes, there are good carbs). Try low fat yogurt, natural peanut butter, hummus, reduced-fat cheese or a slice of lean deli meat with veggies...
This is good. An opportunity to share good information to better our health. Good job.
