Warriors Fight til the End...

Good afternoon, FAMILY...  According to the "Urban Dictionary", a warrior is a person, who beyond all obstacles still manages to be successful. A warrior will often be
troubled in life, but will persevere in the end.  Yes, that symbolically describes the members of my Warrior Camp.  About 6 weeks ago, I told you guys that I would be participating in a Warrior Camp.  This camp consisted of exercise classes exclusively for the "warriors" over and beyond what the facility offered, individual and group counseling sessions, grocery shopping, and accountability.  Well, the Camp is over and all 20 of us survived and were, as the definition states, successful.

The program, presented by Jana Michelle, offered and delivered just what it said it would.  Warrior Camp gave us an emotional, physical, spiritual and mental remodeling.  We were ALL successful inspite of the obstacles in our lives--work schedules, significant others, troubled children, financial droughts, self-esteem issues, just life in general.   Some members of this class were involved in a previous warrior camp and they each still felt that they received positive reinforcement and new found knowledge about themselves and what it takes to get on the road to and stay on the road toward a healthy lifestyle.

We had one evening every week where we actually talked, listened, and embraced each others lives and issues.  This was also our time to discuss the hurdles we encountered during the previous week with learning how to make that change to think, shop, cook, and eat healthier.  Just hearing others speak on the fact that they tried something different, that they would NEVER have considered in the past and then realizing that it taste good, different but good was great...  Learning that most of our need to eat is mental, not physical.  Yes, most of the time, you really are not hungry, you just want to much and crunch.

The Warrior Dolls shed a lot more than pounds and inches.  We shed some emotional baggage as well.  Now, we have the same motto as the Vegas Ads, "What happens in Warrior Camp stays in Warrior Camp", so I won't be telling anymore than that.  I must say, we bonded in a special way.  All  the time I sacrificed, all the traffic jams I got caught in trying to get to camp, all the nights I had to come home and ice my knees, all the mornings I could barely walk because my left knee, my right hip and my right foot were aching, was well worth it.

My plan has been to just get healthy. Yes, I needed and still need to lose some weight.  I figured if I did this thing right, slow and consistant, I could have some success.  In June I bought this expensive scale that weighs you, tells you your body fat and some other things that I could care less about, but I know it cost me about $80.  I started going to Zumba on a regular basis July 1st.  On July 1st, I weighed in at 204.5 lbs.  On September 4th, when I started my Warrior Camp, I weighed 190.2 pounds.  On the last day of camp, October 18th, my scale said 184.6 pounds (yes, Jana your scale is broken).  I think I am making progress. What about you?  What are you doing differently today that is going to put you on the road to HEALTHY???  If you haven't started, on the healthy road, START TODAY... SMOOCHES!!!
