Good evening, Family... Yes, I have been missing in action, BUT I'm back. Life sort of got in the way. I am SURE you can relate. I just hope that you have continued on YOUR road toward healthier living. Well, I just had my birthday and tried to squeeze out every bit of enjoyment I could by celebrating for a few days. I did alot of things that I WANTED to do. Of course, there were things that didn't go as I planned, but for the most part, I made the best of it and ENJOYED the moments for ME, MYSELF, and I.
What I do want you to know is that it has been just over a year since I started this blogging thing. Oh, I have SO much to learn, but it will come. I just wanted to communicate to family and friends and try to keep you ALL motivated in your journey towards a healthier lifestyle. My prayer was that in the process, some of US would have dropped a few pounds, lowered some blood pressure, achieved better numbers in our diabetes testing and made some progress in lowering that bad cholesterol number, just to name a few things. I can say that I have lost 20 pounds over the last year. I KNOW someone is out there saying, "I could have lost 20 pounds in a month or two". I say, "Good luck to you". Twenty pounds for me was NOT easy. I LOVE to try new recipes. I LOVE great restaurants. I LOVE good food. I LIKE to crunch. I LOVE wine. And I have some bad joints that don't always want to work with my program, just to name a few things that I have working against me! IT has been a process...
I have not exercised for about 1 week. I had to get this LEFT knee checked out. It has been screaming at me for about 3 weeks and I could NOT take it anymore. So the verdict is in. My previous injury has somewhat weakened my knee. The tendons are in good shape but, I have to work on strengthening the muscles in my thigh area so they can keep everything in alignment. I have to lay off the pounding exercises to give the knee a little break. I can not do consecutive days of ZUMBA, running, and jumping--DOCTORS' ORDERS. It has to be every other day for now. The Doctor tried to drain fluid off of my knee, but not much was there. I did get a steroid injection in my knee and I MUST say that my knee hurts right now, feels like it is "off track"...No exercise tonight. Hopefully, I can get up and get moving tomorrow with my knee in a protective brace.
Remember, if you have some abnormal aches and pains, do not be afraid to go to the doctor. Get things examined and adusted while you can. Sometimes waiting too long can make things worse than they have to be. STAY Encouraged Family...SMOOCHES
