Help, I've Fallen and I can't Get Up...

Good evening, Family...  Just want to see if I am the ONLY one out there who has fallen and can't get up.  Some of you who know me, know that I would take a real meal ANY day over something sweet, but LATELY...  I can't get enough sweets.  Over the last couple of months, I have this crazy craving for SWEETS...  I have had the cupcakes from CRUMBS bakery, eclairs by TASTYCAKE, and cookies by WHOMEVER...  This is out of control.  I have literally gained 7 pounds.  Just messing up my hard work and I just do not have that thing called willpower.  Thank GOD, I have been exercising...  I can't imagine what would be happening right now if I wasn't burning some calories.   So, why am I in this mode???  Who knows.  I do know that every now and again, I get into this "phase" of wanting to eat something ALL the time, and eventually the phase dies.   Right now, I need it to die and bury itself in a hurry... Too much sugar is one of the main causes of obesity , insulin resistance and diabetes.

A craving as defined by Merriam-Webster dictionary is an intense, urgent, or abnormal desire or longing.   Some consider craving as emotional eating that can be triggered by
S-T-R-E-S-S.   But as I read, I see that sweet cravings could also be caused by a hormonal imbalance, unhealthy dieting, fatigue, eating disorders and even premenstrual syndrome.  I can tell you I can eliminate a couple of those issues, but hormones sound like it may be the one for me.  I suggest that  if this is happening to you more than "normal", you might want to see your physician.  In the meantime, here are a few suggestions.

Maybe your body wants some extra protein.  FEED THE BODY what it wants in that respect.  Add some meat, eggs, beans, etc.. to your diet.  Proteins slow down digestion and keep the body feeling full longer.  EAT RIGHT and REGULAR.  Stop skipping meals.  Too much  time in between meals causes the blood sugar to drop, triggering cravings.   When you reach for that unhealthy snack, it's good for the moment, but in a couple of hours, you are hungry again.  MOVE ALL the unnecessary junk out of the way and YOU MOVE TOO.  Yes, move all that cake, cookies, and ice cream and replace them with some fruit or nuts.  Two pieces of fruit is much healthier than two pieces of cake (and please don't tell me that cake has eggs and milk in it).  WALK AWAY.  I know from my own experience, that sweet item did not jump up in my hand alone.  I HAD to go to it, purchase it, cut it, make it, or bake it.  Next time I am going to just walk another direction...  What about you???  SMOOCHES!!!
